How to Filter Vinted by Location (Country and City)

· 5 min read

If you've searched Vinted recently, you have probably noticed that a lot of what you see is not in your country. That great jacket might be shipping from three borders away, with a delivery fee and a waiting time to match. The obvious fix would be a "location" filter next to size, brand and price. Vinted doesn't have one.

This guide explains what your options are, and how to filter Vinted by country or city in about a minute.

Does Vinted have a location filter?

No. Vinted's search lets you filter by category, size, brand, condition, colour and price, but not by where the seller is. The seller's location is shown on the item page itself, which means checking it one listing at a time: open the item, scroll, read the location, go back, repeat.

That's fine for one or two items. It's useless when a search returns hundreds of results and you only care about the ones you can actually get cheaply and quickly.

Option 1: check each listing by hand

It works, it's free, and it's slow. Open every listing that looks interesting in a new tab and look for the seller's location. Close the ones that are too far. Expect to spend more time doing this than actually shopping.

Option 2: use a location filter extension

NearShopper is a Chrome extension that adds the missing filter. It reads the location of each listing on the page you're looking at, puts a tag with the city and country on every result, and then either fades or hides everything that isn't where you want to buy from.

Step by step

  1. Install NearShopper from the Chrome Web Store. There is no account to create.
  2. Go to your usual Vinted site (vinted.pt, vinted.fr, vinted.de, vinted.co.uk… it works on all of them) and search as normal, with whatever filters you like.
  3. Click the NearShopper icon and type where you want to buy from. A country ("Portugal"), a city ("Lyon") or an ISO code ("PT") all work.
  4. Press Start Filtering. Each listing gets a location tag, and the ones that don't match are dimmed, or removed completely if you turn on "Hide non-matching".

Filter by country or by city?

Filter by country if your main goal is avoiding international shipping. Domestic parcels are usually cheaper and faster, and returns are simpler.

Filter by city if you want to meet the seller, check the item in person, or simply get the parcel the next day. City filtering is stricter, so expect fewer results.

Tip: Some sellers only publish their country, not their city. NearShopper marks those with an amber tag instead of hiding them, so you don't lose a good listing because of missing information.

Bonus: filter by shipping cost

Location is a good proxy for shipping cost, but not a perfect one. NearShopper also lets you set a maximum shipping price, so anything that would cost more to deliver than you're willing to pay disappears from the grid. This is useful even if you don't mind where the seller lives. We go deeper on this in how to avoid high shipping costs on Vinted.
