Why Vinted Shows You Items From Other Countries (and How to Stop It)
· 4 min read
You search for a pair of trainers on Vinted and half the results are in another country. You didn't change any settings. So what happened?
Vinted is one big European marketplace now
Vinted operates country sites across Europe, from vinted.fr and vinted.de to vinted.pt, vinted.pl and vinted.co.uk. Over time it has connected these catalogues so that buyers in one country can see and buy items from sellers in others. For Vinted that means a much bigger catalogue. For you, it means a search full of listings that are a long way from home.
There is no setting in Vinted to turn this off, and no "my country only" switch in the search filters.
Why it matters
- Shipping eats the discount. An item priced at 8 € that costs 12 € to ship was never a bargain.
- Slower delivery. Cross-border parcels usually take longer than domestic ones.
- Harder returns. Sending something back abroad can cost more than the item is worth.
- Environmental cost. Many second-hand buyers shop on Vinted precisely to reduce waste, and long-distance shipping cuts against that.
How to only see Vinted listings from your country
Since Vinted doesn't offer the filter, you need to add it. NearShopper is a free Chrome extension that tags every listing with the seller's country and city, then hides or fades the ones from places you don't want to buy from.
- Add NearShopper to Chrome.
- Search on Vinted the way you normally do.
- Open the extension, type your country (or your city), and press Start Filtering.
That's it. Your results now show only items you can get without paying international shipping. The full walkthrough is in our guide on how to filter Vinted by location.
Tip: Want to go even more local? Type a city instead of a country. It's the closest thing to a "Vinted near me" filter. See how to find Vinted items near you.
